Publication in Art, Design & Communication in Higher Education Reflects on MOME’s Non-Bionormative Prosthesis Design Course

I’m happy to share that our article “Exploring Non-Bionormative Prosthesis Design: Challenging Norms and Fostering Situative Learning Ecology” has just been published in Art, Design & Communication in Higher Education (Intellect Books).

I’m deeply grateful to my co-authors Luca Szabados and Emese Thamó.

Luca and I have taught several courses together at MOME, while Emese joined this paper as a student collaborator. For me as an educator, it is essential to make the co-Ability approach tangible not only in design practice but also through shared authorship, offering the next generation firsthand experience in contributing to an academic publication.
Special thanks to Luca ❤️ for bringing her lived experience and insight to this work.

It feels especially meaningful that these two international recognitions – the Don Norman Design Award DNDA in the Education category and this peer-reviewed publication – arrived in the same period. Together, they acknowledge effort to connect practice-based learning with research-based reflection in higher education.
